A poker run and raffles benefiting Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Inc. hosted by the American Legion Riders of Niceville Post 221 is planned for March 30.
Registration runs from 9 to 10 a.m. at American Legion Post 221, 444 E. John Sims Parkway in Niceville. Rider fees are $20 each, and passengers fees are $10 each.
Kick stands go up at 10:15 a.m., and excited riders head out to make their stops. They return to Post 221 by 3:30 p.m. The event will take place whether it rains or shines.
Along with the run, raffles will be held starting at 4 p.m., including a Smith & Wesson 642 (pink grip) and a .38 Special Glock 43×9 mm. You do not have to be present for the gun raffle, but there are requirements: you must be 21 years or older, a U.S. citizen, and pass an ATF background check.
The poker run route begins and ends at American Legion Post 221. After beginning there, your next stop is The Lucky Star Bar (15992 331 Business in Freeport), then The Wagon Wheel (2254 FL-83 in DeFuniak Springs), the Amvets 178 (4776 US-90 in Defuniak Springs), and then back to American Legion Post 221.
Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Inc. provides free shelter and respite to those accompanying their loved one experiencing a medical crisis and being treated at the Eglin Air Force Base Hospital.
