The Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women is hosting a free 2024 Mental Health & Women’s Safety Summit on June 14 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will be held at Northwest Florida State College Raiders Café. The event location is Building 400, 100 College Boulevard East in Niceville.
The summit features keynote speaker Florida House Representative Patt Maney will speak about legislative updates to the Baker Act. Afterwards, there will be a mental health panel discussion regarding trauma-related therapeutic services and advocacy. The last segment of the summit is an interactive workshop addressing women’s personal security and situational awareness led by Empower Academy President Matthew Docchio.
Deadline for registration is June 10. You can choose to add a box lunch available for $12 as an option when registering.
