Finally Free (20240512): Listen, God Love You Pastor Willie Collins

Hello everyone, hope that you all had a Blessed day!!

My question to you all, really quick, what are you thankful for?

Also I pray that you all were able to exercise that thankful Spirit this week!!

So, My heart’s desire is that as we continue with our Love series, you will continue to understand how much God loves each and every one of us especially because He sent Jesus Christ to save our lives!

So let me set it up like this, whenever a father makes the sacrifice for his children, there ought to be some type of appreciation for what the father has done, especially with us as children of God, we should show so much appreciation.

Ephesians 6 (KJV)

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Pray: Father it is my heart’s desire to please you, and you will always be glorified in all that we do. Lord as we come before you this week, we pray that lives will be blessed as well as the lives of those who love God.  Lord i pray also for our children as they are the future, and we know it is important to pour into them as you have poured into us. Allow us to guide them and lead them into their divine destiny with love and compassion but without compromising your standard. We Thank you, Father, in Jesus name, amen!!!

SUBJECT: LISTEN, GOD LOVES YOU

Parents, we should ask our Children a few questions :

  1. why is it important you to listen to your parents?
  2. What can happen to make your parents proud of you?

Okay the Bible says obey your parents, but as you grow older, there will become a time where there is a change from obeying to Honoring.

  • What’s the difference?

1. Obey: To follow the commands or guidance of. Do as you are told.

2. Honoring: A showing of usually respect (love)

Understand that God never said for us to disobey our parents only but to also obey God!!!  We are to do both.

Nor does it mean for Adult children to be subservient to their parents either.  When a child is not an adult and they are under their parents-care, they are to obey them,  but when there no longer under the care and supervision of their parents, the responsibility of honor and respect is still there and should be there for life!!!

  • How many people listening  know that our faith in Jesus Christ is real?
  • OKAY HOW DO YOU KNOW???

Children, should your parents take care of you even when you are not listening?

Yes, we should, God has given us the responsibility to take care of you but it would be so much better when you understand the love of God.

Sometimes because of the cares of this world, we have to be careful not to get outside of God’s will. The Bible tell us as

Parents in:

Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)

6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Here are a few reasons why as children of God to obey God’s voice and His love through your parents.  The little devil hates us and wants to kill us either in our mind, in the flesh and most importantly, our spirit:  A few years ago there were a few studies done all of the United States as it relates to our children.

The a spring newsletter of the Nevada Department of Corrections hinted a few things that did not speak to her exact point, but it does mention children who do not read on grade level are more likely to dropout, use drugs or end up in prison.

How many people listening, your parents wanted you to read and sometimes you did not want to do it?  Did you know that:

So many nonreaders wind up in jail that officials have found they can use the rate of illiteracy to help calculate future prison needs. A former Indiana governor stated that determining the number of new prisons to build is based, in part, on the number of second graders not reading at second-grade level. In California they plan how many jail cells they will build in the future by how many children are not reading on grade level by third grade.

You see, a student not reading at his or her grade level by the end of the third grade is four times less likely to graduate high school on time–six times less likely for students from low-income families. Take that and add to it a 2009 study by researchers at Northeastern University that found that high school dropouts were 63 times (!) more likely to be incarcerated than college grads and you can start to see how many arrive at this conclusion.

See this is how they want us to believe that they care about our youth’s future if they mess up or end up in Jail or prison anyways…

“But once incarcerated, not all hope is lost. In fact, literacy instruction can help on both ends of the correctional system; studies have shown that inmates enrolled in literacy and other education programs can substantially reduce recidivism rates. One study of 3,000 inmates in Virginia found that 20% of those receiving support in an education program were reincarcerated, while 49% not receiving additional support returned to prison after being released.”

Hopefully after hearing this, you believe that there is a system designed to lock us all away in some cases no matter what your circumstances are?  Please don’t believe those people are trying to lead you astray.  Remember because of God’s love, He will direct our step if we Listen to our parents and knowing the voice of God.

Some people clearly don’t have our best interests in mind.

1 John 4:1-21 (NLT)

Discerning False Prophets

1 Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

2 This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.

3 But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.

4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

5 Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them.

6 But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

Loving One Another

7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.

12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.

14 Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.

16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

19 We love each other because he loved us first.

20 If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

21 And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

So why did God send Jesus to die for us? His Love!!

Why Does God want us to listen to our parents? His Love!!
