Good morning everyone, we are so blessed by the anointing of God’s presence today. Let’s give the Lord a praise this morning as we take a few minutes to Give God some Glory!!!
John 15:13-15 (NIV)
13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Pray: Father we thank you this morning for blessing the lives of your people today, we honor you Lord for the sacrifice you have made for all of our lives and today and every day we celebrate the life, death, burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ this morning as we do daily. We are so blessed to have you Lord God in our lives and are in a daily expectation of your Glory to pour upon and in every area of our lives.
Let today be a refreshing start for those who have not been walking with you and a system reboot for those who have been walking with you!! Lord God we Love you in Jesus Name!!!
SUBJECT: BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE!!
What a phenomenal day to be alive as we celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! A few weeks ago on Resurrection Day we were reminded that our Father really loves us like no one else! As we see in the word this morning the Bible says he laid His life down for a friend!! No greater Love!!
How many people listening have ever been in love?
How did you know that that person loved you or how did you know that you were in love?
• Was it because you felt a certain way about a person?
• Maybe because your breath was taken away when you are in their presence?
• Maybe because you realize you don’t want to live without them?
Today on this Glorious day of the Lord, I want to see how the world describesknowing being in love and of course we will see what the word of God says about God’s love!! I hope that you are already encouraged and pray that everyone this morning is blessed by the presence of God.
Let’s get started this morning with 8 things the world describes when they believe that someone loves them:
1. Want to spend time with you!! Get your QT in!!
2. Asks about your day!! They take interest in your daily life!!
3. Trusts you!! That person can believe that you are who you say you are and you will do what you say you will do!!
4. Helps you when you need it!! Lend you a helping hand when you are down and out!
5. Shows respect for your views!! They give reverence to the things you say even when they don’t align with your own persona views. They still love you…
6. Includes you in decisions!! They want to know how you feel about what’s going on with them…
7. Is willing to go to bat for you and your relationship!! They will go toe to toe with someone if need be…
8. Lastly, they make you feel good about yourself!! They are there to encourage you good, bad or indifferent!!!
Any of these seem good to anybody in here this morning, you’ve felt this way about anyone you may have spent any amount of time around? Please understand that God is better than these few things and we must know that God’s love is stronger and more powerful than any of the things I have describe to you this morning!!!
Let’s take some time this morning and talk about what the word of God says as it relates to “Gods reasoning of loving us!!
1. He created you. Not only that we were created in the image of God to take dominion in the earth!!!
In Psalm 139 talks about He knew you before you were born. We were on the mind of the creator when He created this universe!! He knit you together in your mother’s womb. Even with all our flaws, imperfections, He still formed us!! You were planned way before you even existed. God put thought and care intoyour design.
2. Christ died for you.
While you were still a sinner, Christ died for you. According to Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
• When we were, all cutting the fool, even when we did not know about God, He still died for our Sins, so that we would be made in His perfect image!!
This sacrifice had nothing to do with your actions, but was simply to demonstrate God’s love.
3. He gave you the Bible.
The word of the Lord!! Instruction on how to receive His perfect plan and will for our lives!!
- Just know, the little devil and his imps will not just sit around and just allow you to go one with your life without messing with your peace!!
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
BUT GOD SAID
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
• God wants you to have “a rich and satisfying life”. Times get rough sometimes and those times we need to remember that God loves us, even when there is not light of the Father is around you!
• It’s hard to know what that looks like today with so many people saying so many different things and arguing about what is right and wrong.
• As it relates to the Bible and God’s plan for our lives!!
• If we are going to live a life that is pleasing to our God and relate to His love, we must know what the word of God is saying.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
• So, we can know what is right and wrong, good and evil by reading God’s Word. He gave us the Bible so we can know the truth, hope and promises he offers and have the tools we need to live the best life possible.
Pretty Simple Right?
4. He is jealous over you.
Exodus 20:2-6 (NIV)
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
- That life of sin, lying, cheating, stealing…
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
-
- Any picture and saying it’s God is not good, that picture you have hanging up in your home, office or around your neck…
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
-
- Always keep God First…First Love!
6 but showing love to a thousand generationsof those who love me and keep my commandments.
• Think about when someone gets jealous in a relationship. It is when the other person is giving their affection to someone else. When you love someone, you want their affection to be toward you alone. God is no different. He loves us so much and wants our affection, our worship, our love to be only to him and no other gods or idols.
5. He wants a relationship with you.
There are so many places you see that he wants a relationship with you in the Bible, from
- Not religion but we must have relationship!!
Jeremiah 33:3, ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’;
• He will answer us when we call to him!!
His Love!!! Remember His Will
Romans 13:14, Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
• This is another reminder that we are instructed to clothe ourselves with the presence of Jesus. Cast down the flesh and work out our Spirit Man!!!
In Colossians 2:6-7 6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,
7 Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
• We are encouraged to continue to follow him.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us we can come boldly to the throne:
- Not scared but humble.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.
- Jesus explains that he is the Good Shepherd and that his sheep know Him, and He knows His sheep.
- This is possible hire, because of relationship, fellowship and intimacy with Jesus.
- In your heart and in your mouth, should be: God’s desire for me to have a relationship with him not just on Resurrection Sunday but daily!! We must maintain our fellowship and connect to God no matter what!!
• Listen to what Jesus said:
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
• We are to remain in Him, and He will remain in us and it is only together that we can produce much fruit. Stay Connected!!! He Loves us and came that we might have life in Him!!
• We are to serve God in Spirit and in Truth because He paid the price for our lives in Love, Blood, sweat and tears!!!
Matthew 20:28 (NIV)
28 Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
• A ransom was the price paid to release a slave from bondage. (Sin/Death) Remember he laid down His life that we would no longer be slaves but friends of God!!!
• Jesus often told His disciples that He must die, to redeem all mankind from the bondage of sin and death.
• Even the disciples thought that as long asJesus was alive, they would be saved but Jesus had to die first so that the world would have a chance to be set free!! He gave His life because of His Agape Love: to greet with affection, to love spousal love, care for one’s children or appreciation for good meal…
- Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things.
John 10:17-18 (NIV)
17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again.
18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
• Jesus’ death and resurrection, is and always will be a part of God’s plan for Salvation of all mankind, we are under control of our Heavenly Father.
• Jesus laid His life for us, because He wanted to, not because He was forced!!
• Do you love Jesus today?
John 14:15 (KJV)
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
• Keeping what God wants us to do is not always easy but truly rewarding!!
• In closing, what should we do? Turn to our last scripture this morning:
Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
• Remember Jesus came to fulfill the Law!! Can you do these two this morning?
I heard my Bishop say: Most successful Saint’s invest in one another!!! Will we invest in one another today??
Holy Communion:
Matthew 26:26-28 (NIV)
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
