Finally Free (240602): This Is The Air I Breathe Pastor Willie Collins

This is the Air I Breathe

Good morning family, it’s so funny how the cares of life come to amplify what’s really going on in the heart and Spirit of people.  It’s not always bad when it’s amplified but sometimes it just helps recognize what’s really happening.

Today I want to hit just a few things if you would lend me your ear:

    1. When should we praise the Lord?    Whenever you breath…
    2.   How important is Breathing?  Very…

3.  Did you know that Empathy is a word often overlooked.

4.  Jesus’ life sacrifice is and was more impacting than most Christian Believers recognize.

Subject: This is the Air I Breathe

1.  When should we praise the Lord?

Psalm 150: 1-6

Praising the Lord takes effort, but also it takes an understanding of reverence for the act or the Being.

·      Praising God is a reminder of how blessed we are to have the opportunity to give honor to the one who gave us life.

·      The key verse is 6: Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!

Another Version says, everything that is breathing, praise the Lord!!

·      What happens when you don’t have breath, or can’t catch your breath?

·      There is a song by Michael W. Smith:

Breathe

This is the air I breathe
This is the air I breathe
Your holy presence living in me

This is my daily bread
This is my daily bread
Your very word spoken to me

  • Remember God’s word was spoken into each of us!  He gave us the Breath of Life!!

And I I’m desperate for you
And I I’m lost without you

This is the air I breathe
This is the air I breathe
Your holy presence living in me

  • Have you ever been in a place where you could not catch your breath? I have been in a place where I took for granted being able to even breathe!!  Many people over the past few years with Covid for example, were and some still are dealing with symptoms that are hindering what God ordained.  He said everything that has breath praise Him!!! THIS IS A DIRECT COMMAND from the Lord!!

This is my daily bread
This is my daily bread
Your very word spoken to me

And I I’m desperate for you:

  • Desperate to breathe, give life to the organs in which God has given to me.

And I I’m lost without you (2X)
And I I’m desperate for you

And I I’m lost without you (2X)
I’m lost without you (2X)

I’m desperate for you (3X)

I’m lost without you
I’m desperate for you (2X)
I’m lost without you (4X)
I’m desperate for you

2.  How important is Breathing?

I would say it is very important, if you are hindered, there are other issues that derive from not being able to breath:

Shortness of breath: A common symptom with many possible causes can result from a range of problems, including an allergic reaction, an anxiety attack, or anemia. But most often, the underlying cause is a heart or lung condition.

“Because these two organ systems are so intertwined, one always affects the other,” says Dr. Aaron B. Waxman, who directs the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  In fact, about 60% of people with heart disease also have a lung disease. As a result, it’s not always easy to distinguish cardiac and pulmonary issues, he says.

Side note, when your heart is corrupted, it effects your breathing!! Things in your hearts, hinders your air exchange with God and Man!

Cardiac causes

Many cardiovascular problems can cause shortness of breath, or what doctors call dyspnea: difficult or labored breathing.

This symptom may appear suddenly, such as during a heart attack, or if a person has a pulmonary embolism, which occurs when a blood clot breaks free from a vein in the leg or pelvis and lodges in the lung.

But breathing problems related to the heart may also appear gradually over time. Often, they occur only during physical activity. Possible causes include a stiff, narrowed aortic valve (aortic stenosis), a heart rhythm disorder, or heart failure. Breathlessness with heart failure — when the heart can’t pump well enough to meet the body’s needs — often worsens when people lie down.

When breathlessness requires immediate attention

No matter what the cause, shortness of breath is a symptom to take seriously, unexplained shortness of breath experienced for the first time

·       shortness of breath at rest

·       shortness of breath accompanied by chest pain or pressure, lightheadedness, or sweating

·       worsening shortness of breath, if you already have heart failure, asthma, or emphysema.

Lung problems

When shortness of breath is accompanied by chest tightness or wheezing, asthma may be the cause. Worsening breathing problems and coughing may be a sign of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Pneumonia, a lung infection that can be a complication of the flu, causes cough, fever, and chills along with breathlessness.

I’ve said it both publicly and privately, COVID was not killing people, it’s the untreated symptoms!!

If we have not experienced life like this, many will take it granted, which leads me to number 3:

3.  Empathy is a word often overlooked.

Do you know what it really means to be empathetic?

Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, the capacity to place oneself in another’s position. Definitions of empathy encompass a broad range of emotional states.

Developing empathy is crucial for establishing relationships and behaving compassionately.

empathy has the ability to sense other people’s emotions, coupled with the ability to imagine what someone else might be thinking or feeling.

·      I think about my friend Emmanuel who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, then later died. I remember him saying it was not until he was diagnosed, he felt Empathy for those who had cancer, covid, COPD or any other breathing and issues…

·      I’ve heard situations that if a person doesn’t seem promising to live, they have been instructed don’t put them in the ambulance or don’t treat them!!

What is that all about??

Jesus understands when we are going through the hardness of life and there are people around who can’t help, because they can’t empathize even those who claim to know Jesus. Which brings me to my last scripture and situation today in hope that will help drive home my point; This is the Air I Breathe!!!

4.  Jesus’ life sacrifice is and was more impacting than most Christian Believers recognize.

Mark 9:14-29 (NLT) Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy

I will close with this: What are we doing with the Air that you Breathe? Are you spending more time, murmuring or complaining more than you are Praising God with the Breath of Life; Are you Giving Honor and Glory that you can breathe without struggling:

Psalm 150:6  Let everything that have Breath Praise the Lord; Praise the Lord!!

Are you rejoicing now that you understand?  Will you repent to God for taking for granted what He has given you?

Remember this as we wrap it up today:

1.  We have a better understanding when should we praise the Lord.

2.  We can see how important Breathing is.

3.  Empathy should no longer be overlooked!

4.  Jesus’ life sacrifices are and will always impact the lives of those who are Christian Believers! Surrender Jesus Today!!
