Let's Talk (240208) - Raising Awareness: Congenital Heart Defect Month dewbob

Welcome back to another Let’s Talk podcast! This week, we have the pleasure of welcoming Logan Browning, the executive assistant to Fort Walton Beach city manager Jeff Peters. In this episode, Logan shares his journey, from his military service to his daughter’s battle with a congenital heart defect, and how it led him to become a passionate advocate for the Ronald McDonald House.

A New Addition to the City of Fort Walton Beach

Logan Browning may be fairly new to the city of Fort Walton Beach, but he has already made a significant impact as the executive assistant to city manager Jeff Peters. In this episode, Logan shares insights into his role and his experience working alongside the city manager.

A Decade of Service in the Army

Logan’s journey began with a decade of service in the Army, where he served in various locations, from Fairbanks, Alaska to Fort Benning, Georgia, and even a year in Korea. His military service and experiences have shaped his perspective and instilled a strong sense of dedication and commitment.

A Personal Battle with Congenital Heart Disease

Logan’s journey took a turn when his daughter, Cadence, was born with a congenital heart defect. The challenges and hardships that followed led Logan and his family to the Ronald McDonald House, where they found support and assistance during a difficult time.

Giving Back to the Ronald McDonald House

Motivated by his personal experience, Logan has spearheaded a charity fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. His initiative involves a pop tab drive, aimed at raising awareness and support for families dealing with congenital heart defects. Logan’s dedication to this cause is truly inspiring.

How You Can Get Involved

If you’re inspired by Logan’s story and want to contribute to the pop tab drive for the Ronald McDonald House, here’s how you can get involved:

  • Drop off donations at 8 locations within the city of Fort Walton Beach, including city hall, the annex building, fire and police departments, the rec center, the library, and the golf course.
  • Chamber members can also participate in the pop tab drive organized by Ted Corcoran at the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday coffee event.

Join the Cause

Logan’s passion for supporting families dealing with congenital heart defects is truly commendable. By getting involved in the pop tab drive, you can make a meaningful difference and show your support for this important cause.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Logan Browning for sharing his story and for his dedication to making a positive impact in the community. Stay tuned for more inspiring stories and conversations on the Let’s Talk podcast.
