Religion verse Relationship
Today I want to take a few minutes to share my thoughts about the difference between the two.
Religion is belief in a god or gods and the activities that are connected with this belief or that are connected with this system such as praying or worshipping in a building such as a church or temple….
What is the real definition of religion according to the world?
1: the service and worship of God or the supernatural.
2: commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance.
3: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices.
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
These are this that have shown just a few, yes I could have shown you all types of scriptures this morning which would show you and break it down to you but I felt that was sufficient for you! Now I want to get a little deeper with our next topic and that is Relationship.
Many people have so many different views of what relationship is, and me it very clear, that would be covenant.
Relationship
The way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected.
The state of being connected by blood (JESUS CHRIST SHED BLOOD) or marriage.
The way in which two or more people or groups regard and behave toward each other.
An interpersonal relationship refers to the association, connection, interaction and bond between two or more people.
There are many different types of relationships, four types of relationships: Family relationships, Friendships, Acquaintanceships and Romantic relationships. I talked about covenant relationship and that I want to show you in the word where this was taken seriously and did not allow death to stop it!!
1 Samuel 18
English Standard Version
David and Jonathan’s Friendship
18 As soon as he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
2 And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father’s house.
3 Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul.
4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt.
5 And David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him, so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.
Now you can read further in the next few verses when King Saul was Jealous of what David was accomplishing and did not understand the relationship that David had with God nor the relationship God had established with him when Samuel anointed him as King. Johnathan on the other hand, did therefore showed reverence not only to his natural father Saul but his relationship with God superseded his natural father and he honored the God given relationship in David and between he and David. It was not about the religious Roderick of his father Saul but more about the covenant relationship with God’s true servant.
When you reverence the relationship, everything changes, and you are not blinded by being churchy or find yourself doing things to check the box.

WHEN IT’S ALL SAID AND DONE, THE REALATIONSHIP WITH GOD SUPERCEED ALL.
GOD’S LOVE
“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
GOD’S PLAN
[Christ speaking] “I came that they might have life and might have it abundantly” [that it might be full and meaningful].
John 10:10
So today I ask you, will you have true religion as the Bible says:
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
Or will you continue going through the motions, or will you accept the true and ultimate relationship by making Jesus Christ your Lord and establishing that eternal covenant relationship that never dies.
